I love Bigfoot.
I think I may have decided that I loved Bigfoot cause my brother is such a fan. Sitting around watching 'creature double feature' on saturdays will do that for you.
Linked are some pretty compelling images - sure could be a skinny mangy bear - but those are some pretty long limbs...
Bigfoor or bear
What I remember of Pennsylvania is roadkill deer. When I lived in Florida I would drive to NH - right through PA. b.o.r.i.n.g.

Close call...
Poor Bug!

We had a close call Wednesday. Well anything that harms him is just too damn close.
Normal morning.... la la la... walk ... play... eat... snooze...rinse and repeat.
Suddenly he wants to go out and he is making that 'I'm gonna throw up face'... readers with dogs over 70lbs will know that this instantly causes fear and an amazing burst of leg speed to open the nearest door to the outside. Folks with dogs under 70lbs...pfffft....imagine your favorite expensive beer deciding to foam uncontrollably when you open it over your new carpet...
As Berry Boo exits the door I notice he's not walking right. Literally.
The first thing that comes to mind is that he's had a stroke.
The second thing that comes to mind is puke..my own this time.. cause stroke=dead in this dogs world.
He is as stiff as a plank and quite literally cannot bend his body in one direction to turn around. Counterclockwise - he's fine, Clockwise just didn't exist for him anymore.
Call my vets - tell them I'm coming
Call the roomie... tell her whats going on
Look around for Berry boo - who is feeling better.. enough so that I think I've over reacted and was seeing things. He can turn in both directions and doesn't seem to be uncomfortable.
I sit down and watch for a minute or two. Then it happens again...
This time I'm thinking seizure? But this time I grabbed my camera phone to take a picture - cause I was pretty sure that I wouldn't be able to remember which side he was showing weakness on. Turned out to be a good call. No insult intended - but once at the vets I was very very blonde. It's very true that a picture is worth a thousand words.
To make a very long (and only interesting to the folks who really wish House was a veterinarian) story short:
My vets Rock. I get there and two grown men come to my rescue. Didn't suck at all. Sitting on the floor in the exam room working with Logan and me like they didn't have any other people waiting or that I was seriously throwing their schedule off. It was like we were their only concern. That my friends is priceless.
All his blood work was normal - so no vestibular/doggie stroke problem. No indications that someone threw poison over my fence... no tumors detected on physical exam, no wobblers disease suspected.
Nope. None of the above.
The educated consensus is that he managed to pinch a nerve in his neck and it threw his whole body into spasms.
So it's Saturday now and I'm happy to report there have been no new episodes of Rudder Malfunction on the aircraft carrier Loganberryboo or as we call it around here 'wonkiness' since Thursday night.
The homeopathics (belladona and arnica) not only are tasty little sprinkles in his mouth - they are evidently helping the anti inflammatory work it's magic.
So yay!

She's leaving....on a jet plane...again!
My sistah leaves tomorrow for N.H. Wahhhhhhhhhhhh!
We've had a blast and she's run me ragged. I may need a couple weeks to recover.
New pixs will be up after she is gone so that she can't beat me up and chase me around the house if I post a pic she doesn't like.

Antibiotics Rock! - Pneumonia sucks!
So yeah- I had pneumonia. No typical signs, not like I had a bad cold or anything. I just woke up one morning, thought I'd slept in a weird position cause my back *hurt* and by the next day I was at the Dr's getting blood work and finding out I had pneumonia.
Antibiotics kicked it's ass. Now I'm just trying to get as much rest as possible cause Stacy arrives on Saturday.
No idea how I caught pneumonia - but it's a pretty typical secondary infection to some zoonotic illnesses - so no more Greenwood for me this season.
Maybe if I had him for a Dr. we'd know the source.

Poisoned Pets
I thought that I had escaped this horrible pet food recall. Logan is on such a special diet (allergic to chicken, Turkey, rice, corn, pea's, soy and a few other things) he cannot eat most of the commercially available feeds.
I spent hundreds of dollars on blood work a few months ago to figure out which foods he was allergic to. Since I've found out - he's been doing really well. He eats Timberwolf Organics Dakota Bison as the dry component - and he gets Natural Balance Duck and Potato and Fish and Sweet Potato as his canned.
Two days ago Natural Balance voluntarily recalled their Venison and Rice formula. I freaked out. Call me crazy but the whole line of their canned food is now suspect for me. Logan had hamburgers with me that night, he had pork chops last night and will have that tonight too.
I have ALL the current information linkedon the right. Please Please Please - if your food wasn't on the list 2 weeks ago - check the list again! And keep checking it.
If your dog or cat does NOT have any food allergies - please check out the food that I sell (yes I know - shocking... I'm in direct sales :) more on that later. ) Pure Woof and Pure Purr it is all USA ingredients and has passed multiple tests to see if it's 'clean'. I won't lead you wrong. Even if it's just until this scare is over - then go back to your regular food. If Logan wasn't allergic - I'd put it on him today.
If you have any questions - contact me.

Bird Brains
This is my pigeon. S/He (cause really who knows except another pigeon) Thinks I'm his mom. I'm not a big bird fan. Reference my blog on the ducks. But I'm kinda fond of this guy. Ugly? Oh yeah. This picture doesn't do him justice. He has little yellow fuzz sticking out of his head. I walk into the bird room and you'd think he'd won the lottery.. squawk squawk squawk...flutter flutter flutter. I feel like a superstar in this birds eyes.

The Babies are HERE :)
Spring has Sprung! Babies are arriving every day! If you've got some spare cash..(yeah yeah I know) - click on the link on the right for rehab aint for quitters- and send Greenwood some $$$$$. These babies are cute - but expensive.
I'm having a ball! Yesterday I was syringe feeding baby fox squirrels. OMG doesn't quite capture how damn cute they are. Sorry for the blurry images.. will work that out as we get more adept at wrestling these wee beasts into some form of 'be still'.
More to come as the weeks go by so check back!

PS - a note about the scale of how little these guys are - remember my hands are TINY. On average a full meal for these critters is about 5cc's. When they are curled up and sleeping they aren't much bigger than a billiard ball.
